1) What is your background?
I have worked in travel since my early twenties and started out as a entry level travel agent for Going Places. I then went on to set up my own high street travel agency. After a few years I noticed that the way people booked holidays was changing. In order to adapt to those needs I decided to set up my own home based travel business.
This allows me to be able to save my customers even more on their holidays, ensuring my business is extremely competitive in this very cut-throat market.
2) What is your favourite holiday destination in the whole wide world?
It's extremely difficult to pick one destination that is a favorite of mine because often certain destinations become your favorite for very different reasons. I love culture, so if I had to pick, Brac Island in Croatia is truly spectacular. However it really does depend on what your looking for, Orlando is a very different ball game all together, but it's also a favorite of mine for very different reasons.
3) What is your top tip for the international traveller?
Always do your research so you can make the most out of your trip - and always learn some basic phrases in the local language.
4) What item do you take on every holiday and couldn't live without?
I always take a pen and notebook. I'm a writer as well as a travel professional, and I also love to draw! Seeing and experiencing beautiful places inspires me to do both. I love being able to bring a piece of writing to life using the inspiration of my surroundings. The tastes, sounds and smells all come to life when you're experiencing it first hand in that moment.
5) What is your dream destination?
The Maldives without a doubt. I have dreamt of going there since I started in the travel industry many many years ago. I plan on finally going in Spring 2019 with my young daughter.
5) What's your secret passion?
I like to meditate when I'm travelling. I'll often find a quiet spot somewhere out the way where I'll sit for a few minutes and just be grateful for the moment. It's a privilege to be able travel and it's nice to be thankful for those opportunities to do so.
